The World’s Largest Agricultural Machinery Dealers

Engines, transmissions, axles, hydraulic systems, tires, cabs, filters, sensors and electronics. Behind the major agricultural machinery brands lies another global industry made up of companies that provide much of the technology that keeps these machines running.

The Giants Behind the Giants

The Club of Giants crosses to the other side of the counter. Agricultural companies, agroholdings, investment groups and large-scale operators manage millions of hectares and mobilize enormous fleets of owned or contracted machinery. They are some of the major customers helping explain why agricultural machinery is becoming larger, more productive and more technologically advanced.

From integrated giants such as John Deere to rapidly expanding Chinese conglomerates, these are some of the groups reshaping the global machinery landscape.

The Groups Shaping the Global Agricultural Machinery Industry

For decades, 1,000 HP seemed like an extravagance reserved for mining and heavy construction. Now, hybrid tractors and forage harvesters are pushing agriculture into a new era of extreme power.

The Agricultural Machines That Broke the 1,000-HP Barrier

From India, which manufactures nearly one million tractors a year, to specialized powerhouses such as Italy and Japan, global tractor production is concentrated in a relatively small group of countries. Here is a look at the nations that shape the world's tractor industry.

The Countries That Build the World’s Most Tractors

The United States remains the world’s leading manufacturing hub for tractors above 400 HP, although Germany, Canada, Belarus, Russia and China also host the specialized plants where today’s most powerful agricultural machines are built.

The Factories Where the World’s Megatractors Are Built

Mahindra's production of its seven-millionth tractor has once again highlighted an exclusive group of manufacturers that have shaped the history of agricultural mechanization. Only a handful of companies and industrial groups have reached—or are estimated to have reached—production volumes that remain unmatched across the global tractor industry.
