CMC developed a «chicken harvester»

The Italian company designed a machine that loads the birds in the hatcheries and deposits them in containers, to send them to the slaughterhouses.

The Italian company CMC developed a «chicken harvester» to improve the bird picking in the hatcheries.

The system was made attending to all biosafety requirements, so the chickens are loaded naturally and without stress.

Once in the harvester, they are softly depositated in the boxes, without direct contact with the operators.

The design has been optimizated following the requirements of the EHEDG (European Hygienic Enginneering & Design Group).

All the components that are in touch with the birds are made of stainless steel o galvanized metal. The cages don’t have contact with the trash.

The harvester has a folding head that works with conveyor belts that takes the chickens to the central channel.

The animals are downloaded in cages or boxes that allow to take them to the the slaughterhouses.

The load capacity goes from 8,000 to 12,000 chickens per hour, which is about 16 to 26 tons/hour.
