French Tractor Registrations Fell 14.7% in 2025
Annual registrations totaled 33,446 units, marking the lowest level reported in the French market over the past decade.

The French tractor market closed 2025 with its weakest annual performance of the last ten years.
According to data released by AXEMA, the French agricultural machinery manufacturers’ association, total tractor registrations reached 33,446 units during the year, down 14.7% from 39,198 units reported in 2024.
The result marked the lowest annual volume recorded in the French market since at least 2016.

Standard agricultural tractors recorded the sharpest decline
Standard agricultural tractors remained the largest segment of the French market in 2025, totaling 19,561 registrations and accounting for 57.6% of total sales. The segment declined 18.4% year-over-year from 23,976 units reported in 2024.
Specialized vineyard tractors also posted a significant decline, with registrations falling 19.9% year-over-year to 2,027 units.
Garden and groundskeeping tractors totaled 6,328 units in 2025, down 5.8% from the previous year.
Meanwhile, telescopic handlers reached 4,791 registrations during the year, representing a 7.1% decline compared with 2024.
Market Context
The French tractor market remains one of the most competitive in Europe, with a strong presence of major international manufacturers.
John Deere remained the market leader in 2025, accounting for 21.4% of total tractor registrations. Fendt ranked second with a 16.3% market share, while New Holland and Claas completed the leading group of brands.
