German Tractor Registrations Fell 12.2% in 2025
Annual registrations totaled 25,711 units, extending the market downturn and marking one of the lowest levels recorded in the past decade.

The German tractor market closed 2025 with another year of declining sales.
According to figures released by the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), based on data from Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), total tractor registrations reached 25,711 units during the year, down 12.2% from 29,291 units reported in 2024.
Agricultural tractors accounted for 24,440 registrations in 2025, representing 95.1% of the total market and a 12.4% decline compared with the previous year.

High-horsepower tractors remained the largest segment
Tractors above 150 HP remained the leading segment in the German market, totaling 11,862 registrations in 2025. The category declined 9.6% year-over-year from 13,128 units reported in 2024.
Registrations of tractors below 50 HP reached 5,221 units, down 16.5% from the previous year.
In the 51–100 HP segment, registrations fell 19.2% year-over-year to 4,566 units.
Meanwhile, tractors in the 101–150 HP range totaled 4,062 units, representing a 4.6% decline compared with 2024.
Market Context
Fendt remained the leading tractor brand in Germany for the third consecutive year.
The German manufacturer registered 6,326 units in 2025, accounting for a 25.9% share of the total market.
Fendt also achieved a 30.9% share in the segment above 51 HP and a 24.3% share in tractors below 50 HP.
