Nufarm enters the electric weed control business

The company specialized in agrochemicals partnered with Crop.Zone to release a system that eliminates weeds with electric shocks.

The multinational Nufarm enters as a major player in the global business of equipment for electric weed control, adding another unit to the seeds and agrochemicals, which are its specialty.

The Australian company partnered with the German startup Crop.Zone to develop a system to be released in Europe during 2021.

The projected system is based on first treating the plants with a regulated organic liquid to act as a conductor, in order to improve the effect of the electric discharges.

According to the companies, this device fights the weeds with greater efficiency and less energy consumption.

The energy for the electrophysical weed killer is provided by the tractor.
