Preet to Establish Tractor Manufacturing Plant in Brazil

The Indian manufacturer plans to begin local production in Paraná by 2027, following the sale of 1,000 units in the Brazilian market. The facility will focus on mid-range tractors and support further regional expansion.

Preet Tractors will build a manufacturing plant in Brazil as part of its expansion strategy in South America.

The facility will be located in Ibaiti and is scheduled to become operational by mid-2027. It will initially produce tractors in the 80–100 hp range for the Brazilian market and neighboring countries.

Production Strategy

The new plant will focus on assembling higher-horsepower models, specifically:

  • 80 hp
  • 90 hp
  • 100 hp

In addition, the facility will enable the localization of 50 hp and 65 hp tractors already marketed in Brazil.

Lower-horsepower models (below 50 hp) will continue to be imported.

Market Presence

Preet Tractors has built a commercial presence in Brazil over recent years, with approximately:

  • 1,000 tractors already delivered
  • A similar volume expected in upcoming tenders, mainly through public-sector procurement programs

This initial market penetration has supported the decision to invest in local manufacturing.

Company Profile

Based in Punjab, India, Preet was founded in 1980 by Hari Singh.

The company produces a range of agricultural equipment, including:

  • Tractors
  • Combine harvesters
  • Balers
  • Rotavators and other implements

Its main production facility covers approximately 50,000 m².

Product Portfolio in Brazil

Preet currently offers eight tractor models in Brazil, covering a power range from 24 hp to 95 hp.

The new plant will prioritize local production of higher-power units, aligning with demand trends in the Brazilian market.

Market Impact

Local manufacturing will allow Preet to qualify for official financing programs in Brazil, improving its competitiveness.

The investment also reflects a broader trend among global agricultural machinery manufacturers seeking to strengthen their footprint in Latin America through localized production.
