The trade war reached the tractors

The European Union established punitive tariffs for the import of tractors up to 177 hp. This was in response to the rates imposed by the United States on European products.

Tractors became victims of the trade war that broke out between the United States and Europe.

The escalation began when the U.S. government imposed a tariff increase on Airbus planes and other European products such as wine, cheese and olive oil.

The European Union’s response was the application of punitive taxes on several U.S. products, including airplanes, tractors, potatoes, peanuts, tobacco and ketchup.

In the case of tractors, the restriction affects models with up to 177 hp, so it does not involve larger series.

Of course, the small and medium tractor segment is very important, especially in the maintenance of green spaces.

International manufacturers put their expectations on the change of government in the United States. They expect Biden to forget the dispute and reopen the entry of low and medium power tractors to Europe.
