U.S. Tractor Sales Declined 9.9% in 2025
Annual registrations totaled 195,857 units, marking the fourth consecutive yearly decline and the lowest level reported in the past decade.

The U.S. tractor market closed 2025 with another year of declining sales.
According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), total tractor registrations reached 195,857 units during the year, down 9.9% from 217,279 units reported in 2024.
The result marked the fourth consecutive annual decline in the U.S. market and the lowest yearly volume recorded in the past decade.
Compared with the historic peak reached in 2021, when registrations totaled 317,944 units, the market contracted by 38.4%.

Higher-horsepower segments posted the sharpest declines
The largest year-over-year declines in 2025 were concentrated in higher-horsepower tractor segments.
Four-wheel-drive (4WD) tractor registrations totaled 2,543 units, down 41.6% from 4,357 units reported in 2024.
Sales of tractors above 100 HP also declined significantly, falling 22.6% year-over-year to 17,648 units.
In the mid-range segment (40–100 HP), registrations totaled 52,812 units, down 4.0% from the previous year.
Meanwhile, tractors below 40 HP remained the largest segment in the U.S. market, with 122,854 units sold in 2025, representing a 9.1% annual decline.
