Mahindra becomes the majority shareholder of Sampo Rosenlew

Mahindra incremented its participation in Sampo Rosenlew, a harvesters manufacturer with base in Finland.

The Indian company is now the majority shareholder, with 75% of the shares.

By July 2016, Mahindra had acquired 35% of the company’s stock.

This move allows Mahindra to strengthen its position in the global harvester business.

John Deere

Until 2019, Sampo Rosenlew maintained an agreement with John Deere to provide him with smaller capacity harvesters, but in November of that year was announced the end of the partnership (see article).

In addition, the company began to develop an independent sales network in Europe and relaunched the harvesters under its own brand. This process will continue in the upcoming years, as announced by the Finnish company’s directors.
